It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and my siblings bought me these Tom Ford Nikita cat eye sunglasses. I loveee them. I wear them everywhere even when there's no sun and water is falling from the sky. Just try to pry them from face.

I went to The Winery in Surry Hills with my besties for lunch and it was absolutely lovely. Delicious cocktails all round, except for the Negroni, it tasted like turps. Not that I've tried turps, it just tasted how I imagined it would.

Paris Is Burning

I'm back from Paris and it was spectacular. It's always been a dream of mine to go to Paris, so every minute I spent there was unbelievable. It stills feels like a dream. The city was magical. More beautiful than any film could ever depict. So here are some holidays snaps and a few of the things I bought.

A cafe on the Champs-Elysees

Solid perfume from Fragonard; a lovely little parfumerie. They're perfect to carry around and smell fantastic.

Tom Ford lipstick in Cherry Lush

The Eiffel Tower takes your breath away. It's a strange feeling seeing it in real life. We took a river cruise on The Seine on our last night and as hard as it is to believe, Paris is even more beautiful in the evening. Embarassingly, I got a little emotional when we went past the tower and the lights started flashing.

Macarons from Laduree. We had some from Pierre Herme as well and please don't shoot me, but I have to say that I prefer Adriano Zumbo's in Sydney.

Gorgeous apartment building in the Latin Quarter. Who am I kidding? All the buildings are gorgeous.

Camel jacket from H&M. Somebody please bring H&M to Australia. It's such a great store. Bought a whole bunch of stuff from there.

I've Won A Trip To Paris

Honestly I did. I leave next Friday and I am so beyond excited. Just a couple of months after posting this I'm now heading over to The City of Light. I basically entered a competition online and got an email yesterday telling me I'd won.

I've won return airfares for me and a friend, 5 nights accommodation, $1000 spending money and tickets to see Interpol and U2 live.

I'll finally see the Mona Lisa and stroll the streets of Paris. It's insane and completely unexpected. Please, please, please give me your suggestions of where to shop, eat, drink. Places to avoid, things to see and do etc.

Glitter Nail Polish. I'm completely obsessed. It puts a huge smile on my face to see my nails shine in the light.

These Jeremy Scott x adidas trainers. If I had kids, I could guarantee you without any doubt in my mind at all that they'd live in these. Live in them, I tells ya.

Red shoes. All the time, any time, every time. In my eyes, they make the world go round.

Watermelon in summer. I really can't think of any better way to get through those hot summer days than with icy-cold watermelon and fruit cocktails. Come on summer, not long now.

Balloons. This shouldn't be news to anyone. Seriously.

My friend Effie. I'm so happy that she's coming back to Oz after what I consider to be an unnecessarily long vacation in Europe.

David Sedaris' Books. Few things give me greater joy in life. I'd marry this man in a heartbeat. If you love reading, you really ought to read these. I met him earlier this year and he is the loveliest and funniest person in the world.

Strawberry Ring. Fruity fingers indeed. Paired with glitter nail polish, you'll never stop looking down at your hands.

Jersey Shore. Words can't even express how much I enjoy watching this show. Ronnie and Sammie really need to put an end to the fighting, it's starting to frustrate me. GTL and fist pumpin' for life.

Live Music. There's nothing like the feeling of hearing your favourite music live. Your favourite musicians just metres away, within touching distance. What little income I have left after buying shoes and rings goes straight to the purchase of gig tickets. It's an unforgettable experience.

Drew Barrymore has always been one of my favourite actresses, not necessarily because she's a good actress but she seems like one of the most genuinely down-to-earth and friendly people in Hollywood, and she has fantastic street and red carpet style.

She's been heavily promoting her latest film Going The Distance this week and she's really brought it in the fashion stakes. All hits, no misses. The ombre hair is working wonders for her. So, I've compiled some of the best looks I think she's sported in her career.

Melbourne

I went to Melbourne a week ago for the second time this year. And for the second time this year, it was the week before uni starts which means I come back and am completely under-prepared.

Anyway, I love Melbourne, I'd really like to go live there for a few months to really get to know the place. My knowledge of the CBD, Prahran and Fitzroy are getting pretty good. I could probably pass for a local.

It was an awesome week of shopping, dining out, gallery visits and more shopping. Here's some of the stuff I bought and saw:

Sportsgirl leopard flats. I went through hell to get these in my size but I won't bore you with the details.

Wittner shoes. I'm not usually a fan of Wittner but these are gorge.

Bought this jacket on Greville St. I really love the red cuffs and collar.

Chilli Hot Pot from Sichuan House. So great for winter weather. Can any Melburnians explain why the tap water served at cafes is never chilled? I've only once encountered this in Sydney.

I went to the National Gallery for the European Masters exhibition which was spectacular. My favourite painting was a self-portrait by Helmut Kolle which I can't seem to find online. There were heaps of school kids at the gallery who had to go around the exhibition answering the kids' questions on the walls. When there were kids around I'd answer the question out loud and give them the answer 'cause that's just the kind of person I am.

My new hand photo frame. Do you love it? I fucking love it.

We stayed at The Cullen again, one of Melbourne's best hotels in my opinion. It's full of original art by Australian artist Adam Cullen. So lovely. They really need to open a gift shop though, I'd love to be able to buy the prints or books that are in the bedrooms.

The lobby. I don't have a photo but there is also a sparkly life-size silver cow in the lobby.

This isn't our room, I found this online. Our room was much bigger with huge mirrors on the walls and a kitchenette in the middle complete with stove, sink, kettle and microwave.

A stencil by graffiti artist Blek Le Rat on the side of the hotel. They've put a protective sheet of acrylic over it to stop people from destroying it.

Alannah Hill hair clip. It shines like you wouldn't believe. It's like having a disco ball in my hair.

A Single Man and Where The Wild Things Are dvds from a cool little music shop on Bourke. Two of my favourite movies ever.

Frost - A frozen yoghurt place on Chapel St. Nothing can really compete with the Pinkberry I had in New York. Ah New York :(

I bought this on eBay not in Melbourne. It's called the fighting lovers. Impressive, right.

The Tim Burton exhibition was bananas. I saw the real Edward Scissorhands costume! Insane! The one that Johnny Depp wore on his body! Swoon.

Burton's a genius, it's amazing to think that everything in that exhibition came from one mind. Go and check it out. Totes worth it.

And on a completely unrelated to Melbourne note, check out my sister's birthday cake. Her boyfriend got it for her, I chose the design. It's probably worth noting she turned 23.

Rings Of Armor

I've been ring crazy for years now, you can see some of my ring collection here. Right now though I'm so obsessed with armor and knuckle rings. You know the ones I mean. They cover your entire finger and make you look like an extra from Beyonce's Single Ladies video.

Here's a bunch of my favourites. If there's enough interest, I'll post some recommendations and places to buy them next week. If anyone has seen any amazing ones, let me know. Like I said, I'm obsessed.

So it's not exactly an armor ring, but it's very interesting nonetheless.

P.S. If anybody knows who the designer of the rings Heidi Klum is wearing below is, please let me know. My googling has proved fruitless.

Those of you who watch Mad Men will be familiar with the spectacularly gorgeous Christina Hendricks. She plays bombshell Joan Holloway in the series. She's also been voted Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive. Redheads are really having a moment.

What follows is 'a letter to men', written by Hendricks. It's a must-read.

We love your body. If we're in love with you, we love your body. Your potbelly, everything. Even if you're insecure about something, we love your body. You feel like you're not this or that? We love your body. We embrace everything. Because it's you.

Speaking of your body, you don't understand the power of your own smell. Any woman who is currently with a man is with him partly because she loves the way he smells. We want you to order Scotch. It's the most impressive drink order. It's classic. It's sexy. Such a rich color. The glass, the smell. It's not watered down with fruit juice. It's Scotch. And you ordered it.

No man should be on Facebook. It's an invasion of everyone's privacy. I really cannot stand it.

You don't know this, but when we come back from a date, we feel awkward about that transition from our cute outfit into sexy lingerie. We don't know how to do this gracefully. It's embarrassing. We have to find a way to slip into another room, put on the outfit as if it all happened very easily, and then come out and it's: Look at me! Look at the sexy thing I've done! For you, it's the blink of an eye. It's all very embarrassing. Just so you know.

Panties is a wonderful word. When did you stop saying "panties"? It's sexy. It's girlie. It's naughty. Say it more.

About ogling: The men who look, they really look. It doesn't insult us. It doesn't faze us, really. It's just — well, it's a little infantile. Which is ironic, isn't it? The men who constantly stare at our breasts are never the men we're attracted to.

There are better words than beautiful. Radiant, for instance. It's an underused word. It's a very special word. "You are radiant." Also, enchanting, smoldering, intoxicating, charming, fetching.

Marriage changes very little. The only things that will get a married man laid that won't get a single man laid are adultery and whores. Intelligence and humor (and your smell) are what get you laid. That's what got you laid when you were single. That's what gets you laid when you're married. Everything still works in marriage: especially intelligence and humor. Because the sexiest thing is to know you.

Sarah Burton has been Alexander McQueen's right-hand man, or woman rather, for the last fourteen years so it's no surprise that the Resort 2011 collection she delivered is spectacular and stays true to the McQueen brand.

The prints and embellishments are all so beautiful. The collection is a reminder that he's gone but it's great to see that Burton will continue his legacy. It gives me hope.

It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and my family got me the most amazing presents so I thought I'd share.

As you can see here and here, I love balloons, especially ones of the red variety. On my birthday, I walked into my room and was surprised by 21 red balloons floating around. It was spectacular. I'm going to have to invest in a helium machine and make sure that my ceiling is constantly obstructed by red balloons.

Crying Men

So, I did a bespectacled men post, which proved quite popular. There must be many people in the world with a fetish for glasses. Today I bring you the crying men post.

There is just something so endearing about a man crying, it can completely break your heart. I don't consider it a sign of weakness in the slightest. I went to a Sam Taylor Wood exhibition at the MCA a few years ago which was made up of photographs of male celebrities (mostly actors) crying (most of which I've posted below). It was so moving and beautiful. My friend and I sat in front of the Jude Law one transfixed until we caught wind of a video of David Beckham sleeping (or pretending to sleep), which was part of the same exhibition.

I just wish more men were comfortable and vulnerable enough to show raw emotion, then I'd have so many more photos to post. But for the time being, enjoy!

I rarely cry but Alexander McQueen's death this week has drained me of all the tears I had. I'm completely devastated and the thought that we'll probably never see a McQueen design again kills me. That I'll no longer be able to go on Net-A-Porter and lust after his shoes, clothes, bags is unbelievable. It hurts more than I can say.

Even if the Gucci Group recruit another designer at the helm of the company it will never, ever, ever be the same. He is truly irreplacable. The world has lost one of its finest.

Things I Love

These beautiful necklaces are by Spanish artist Victoria Contreras and each piece features quotes by famous authors like Samuel Beckett, Virginia Woolf, T.S. Eliot, and Jean Genet. They retail for € 80 EUR. Serious competition for all those Carrie necklaces out there.

Mad Men. Only one of the best TV shows ever made and my god, have you seen Jon Hamm? Currently working my way through Season 2. Watch it! You won't regret it. You'll be wishing all men dressed like Don Draper.

Lychees. My new obsession this summer. They're delicious and they're so much fun to peel. Just steer clear of the canned variety, they're a completely different story.

Daisy Lowe. Her hair is so perfect it hurts.

Alexander McQueen Bustier. The visual intensity of the bright yellow and intricate lace is jaw-dropping. Available at Net-A-Porter.

I think tassles on shoes are irresistable and these Adidas X Jeremy Scott sneakers are no exception.

Red Alexander McQueen shoe boots. (I watched The September Issue again recently and Anna Wintour told a staff member that "we don't use the word booties". Said staff member was flustered and called them shoe boots). Available at Net-A-Porter.

After almost a year on this blog, I've finally gotten around to the bedroom post. It's taken so long because I'm forever cleaning it and it's never in a state to be photographed. But a couple of weeks ago I cleaned it, I cleaned it real good. So now you can have a peek into my world, a very small part of it, at least.

Rings. My most prized possessions. I love them to bits.

My Macbook. One of the greatest investments I've ever made.

Postcard Wardrobe. Every day at college, Shari, Jaquinto & I would go down to the cafe and stock up on all the free postcards. I used them to cover my wardrobe. I'd say it's one of my greatest achievements to date. It took a lot of time to get to this stage. In fact, it took a year. I'm going to try and cover an entire wall this year.

Mona Lisa Print. I scored this from an op shop for $30. You can't really tell, but it's massive.

Prints & Paintings. I painted the huge portrait of Harry Kewell (Australian soccer player). It was during the last world cup and I got a little too patriotic and fell head over heels in love with him. I spent hours googling photos of him. I think it just looks like a man so it's not as pathetic as it could be.

My red chandelier. It's covered in glitter and is a magnet for dust but I love it. It's nice to look up at when I'm in bed.

Guy Ritchie, Elton John, Tamara Mellon and that girl from Love Actually saw my photo! As I mentioned here, my photo was selected to be exhibited in London. In a Jimmy Choo pop up store in Selfridges, no less.

Here it is. I'm so happy, I can hardly believe it actually happened. I wish I could have been there for the opening night party but 17,000km of land and ocean stood in the way.

Twenty Ten

I'd like to start off by wishing everybody a Happy New Year. I'm sure most of you have made New Year's Resolutions you'll have, no doubt, already broken. Or at the very least, are in the process of breaking.

I decided not to make any resolutions this year. Instead, I've begun compiling a list of things I'd like to do at some stage in my life. The sooner, the better.

It's a work in progress but I'll keep you updated as I complete each item on the list. I'd love any suggestions you may have, so long as they don't involve me jumping off the side of a cliff or out the door of a plane. I have my boundaries.

Like I said, it's a work in progress but you've got to start somewhere. I'd like to think they're all quite realistic and achievable. Ok, maybe not the first one.

1. Marry Tom Ford, or at the very least, meet him.

2. Blow bubbles from the top of the Eiffel Tower.

3. Learn how to make fresh pasta.

4. Write a book.

5. Watch the entire Seinfeld series. (I hated it as a child but I think I was probably too young to appreciate it)

6. Learn to ride a bike. (It’s so embarrassing that I’m nearly 21 and can’t ride a bike. I used to know when I was a child. Honestly. My bike was pink with streamers on the handlebars and the sweetest horn you ever heard)

7. Learn to ice-skate.

8. Plant a kiss on Oscar Wilde's tombstone. (I'm not too keen on kissing a slab of granite but when in Rome and all that, or Paris rather)

9. Celebrate 'Sneak some zucchini onto your neighbour's porch day'. (Yes! It really exists. Google it)

10. Throw a lavish dinner party.

11. Build an elaborate sandcastle.

12. Ride on the back of a motorbike.

13. Send letters from Hogwarts to adults. (Just imagine the look on your friends’ faces when they receive a letter printed on a Hogwarts letterhead congratulating them on being accepted into the most prestigious wizardry school in the world. Priceless)

14. Buy a Birkin. (You'll be mine one day, my precious)

So, most of you will have seen the Alexander McQueen knuckle duster clutch and most of you would have said, "that would make quite a brilliant ring". Well, I did and this further proves that McQueen and I are soulmates. That's not to say he's my only soulmate, there are others: Lagerfeld, Ford, Butler. Yeah, we're on surname basis, we're pretty tight like that.

Anyway back to McQueen, like most soulmates we read each other's minds. He knew I wanted to wear the clutch as a ring and he went to work designing it.

Absolute perfection. The temptation is unbearable and at $550US it is completely affordable for anyone with a credit card. And I have two of those. He offered to send one over, the sweetheart that he is, but I told him not to go to the trouble. Postal strike in London and what not.

I read somewhere that this one was designed with me in my mind. Can't quite remember the source but I'm sure it was a very respectable publication.

I entered the Jimmy Choo 72 Project Pep competition a couple of weeks ago and my photo has been selected for the digital exhibition at the Jimmy Choo Pep-Up Store in Selfridges in LONDON. In a few hours I will be able to say that I've been exhibited in London. I can hardly believe it. It's all so exciting.

It's not what you think. I mean Coca Cola Light Head. Coke invited some of Italy's biggest fashion houses to design their own bottles for Coca Cola Light's Tribute To Fashion during Milan Fashion Week.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, they're only for charity and won't be sold in stores. I think that if Coke was to stick with even just one of these designs, they would rake it in, so to speak. The money raised for the project will go to those affected by the earthquake in Abruzzo earlier this year. So it ain't all bad.

I Put Some New Shoes On...

Three new pairs of shoes, all bought in the last couple of weeks. My credit card is going through depression.

Speaking of Nutini, bought tickets to his concert in October. Can't hardly wait.

So, the first pair is Guiseppe Zanotti. They remind me of mermaids and seashells. The photos don't really do them justice.

Second pair is Yves Saint Laurent. Not sure if you would call them Espadrilles or not, but they're perfect for Summer. I can totally see myself wearing them while cruising the French Riviera aboard Roberto Cavalli's yacht. Or more realistically, to lunch at a sunny Sydney cafe.

And the third and final pair is Diane Von Furstenberg. I came across these in New York, ahh love NY, I think it was in Bloomingdales. But they didn't have my size and I was all emo because I really wanted them. So, then when I came across them in another department store, I thought Lady Luck had smiled upon me. But, alas, they'd also sold out of my size.

But I didn't give up, I came back, ebayed and found them in my size for like a crazy bargain price. I love that they look like simple black suede pumps, but then you turn around and it's POW! RED! And even better than that, is they're insanely comfortable. The same can't be said for the other two pairs.

Vodianova traipses and poses through the woods in an assortment of crimson and scarlet capes, suits, dresses and coats.

Or lack thereof, rather. I disappear off this blog for a month and not even one comment asking if I'm alive and well. For all you know, I could have been abducted and made to work in a Chinese sweat shop, producing the very latest Gucgi, Prado and Fouis Fuitton handbags. Shame on you.

Truth is I haven't really gotten up to anything exciting in the last month. I suppose I've just been busy and lazy and uninspired and busy and just really busy. People who update their blogs regularly ought to be applauded!

I went to a Peter Lang sale and picked up all this jewellery. Pretty to look at, but the quality is horrible. Both bangles broke when I got home, they need to be welded again. I hadn't even worn the goddamn things. I suppose I can't complain, considering I only paid about $150 for the lot.

And finally, I present to you my custom made 'Girl Holding Balloons' necklace. So precious.

What else have I been up to? I've been working, a lot. So expect to see a lot more purchases. I think a pair of shoes is in order. I can't remember the last pair I bought, I think I was in New York. I miss New York. Sydney's getting sunny now, reminding us that summer is just around the corner. Quite exciting really.

I've been doing a lot of interviews and writing a lot of articles as well. Here's my Valentino: The Last Emperor Review.

Valentino - short, perfectly coiffed, and bullish - is almost as famous for his mahogany tan as he is for his 45 years of haute couture. Matt Tynauer's documentary gives viewers an engaging fly-on-the-wall glimpse into the life of a designer so celebrated only his first name is necessary.

The film documents the glamorous and dramatic closing act of Valentino's career, tells his amazing life story, and explores the problems affecting the fashion business today. The heart of the film, however, is the relationship between Valentino and his business partner and companion of 50 years, Giancarlo Giammetti.

It's a dazzling and unexpectedly funny behind-the-scenes look at the art of fashion design and the life of an egotist. Gwyneth Paltrow, Michael Caine, Tom Ford, Anne Hathaway, Giorgio Armani and Anna Wintour make cameo appearances, but they all (quite literally) pale in comparison to the Italian couture king and his diamond-wearing pugs.

Has everyone seen the new Tom Ford ad campaign. I love it. I was reading that he's received some criticism for using himself as a model. But who better to represent Tom Ford than Tom Ford? It doesn't hurt that he's breathtakingly beautiful. I've thought about it and I don't think that his homosexuality should stand in the way of our future happiness as a married couple. Will keep you posted with wedding details.

To more pressing matters, I've changed my mind about my red laptop and have decided I want a Macbook instead. I know I said that Macbook users can suck it, I'm a hypocrite. And fickle.

So, it is with deep regret that I announce that I am selling my HP Vivienne Tam laptop and that you can bid on it HERE.

I am madly in love with this ring. I'm holding off because the Macbook is taking priority at the moment but look at it. It's divine and it's a real butterfly. The designer kills them (that sounds horrible, I'm sure she does it in a perfectly lovely manner or maybe she just buys dead butterflies. I've no idea, I'm making assumptions), then she casts them in silver and covers it with glass. Stunning.

Yesterday, the first movie poster for Dorian Gray was released. I'm so excited for this movie. It's going to be wilde. (I know I used that joke on my Twitter but perhaps if you weren't following me on so many social networking sites, it may have appeared fresh and funny to you)

The Picture Of Dorian Gray is without a doubt one of my favourite books. (I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but Australians spell favorite with a u. It's not a spelling mistake, at least not in my country) So Colin Firth is in the movie adaptation and everyone knows how much I love Colin or Mr Darcy as I so affectionately call him. Don't know about this Narnia boy they've got in the lead. Dorian's blonde in the book, I think Ryan Gosling would have been more appropriate but I'll quit it with my casting decisions and let you just enjoy the poster.

I've been doing some browsing on the Topshop website and I just need to say how impressed I am. The quality of design for a high street store is fantastic. I challenge you to go on the site and not find at least 20 things you would kill your first born for. That's a little extreme but a little hyperbole never hurt anybody. Well actually, it's probably hurt a lot of people but I think we'll just end this discussion here.

As much as I adore him, he's not looking good. He's not looking good on the set of his new movie either. I suppose he might just be depressed about having to be near Jennifer Aniston. I hear that can drive people to suicide, or career suicide at least. Hello John Mayer.

The more likely reason for Gerard's decreasing attractiveness is probably a combination of old age (he's pushing 40) and his party lifestyle. I don't understand, what is going on? Men are supposed to get better with age. I think it's time he settled down. With me.

I hate Lady Gaga as much as the next person, but this dress, which she has rocked to more than one English music festival, is f-ing superb. Amazing. I've googled but can't find the designer. If anyone knows, let me know in the comments.

A few of months ago, Shari (who has abandoned her blog) insisted that I watch The Mighty Boosh series. Now I'm obsessed. It is absolutely hilarious. I'm also madly in love with Noel Fielding who plays Vince Noir. I highly recommend youtubing "noel fielding letter russell brand." You'll be in a fit of giggles. Bespectacled Men

As I mentioned in this post, I’m obsessed with spectacled men. Perhaps obsessed is too strong a word, let’s just say I appreciate a good lens. Much to my surprise, I’m not the only one. It seems that most members of the female population find men in glasses simply irresistible. It appears that men have picked up on this and have taken to donning thick rimmed glasses. Not a problem at all.

Glasses are generally worn to improve vision so why are they a must have accessory for so many men? Surely they can’t all suffer from poor sight. I’ve come across the following explanation, I can’t comment on how accurate it is. Basically, glasses tend to magnify the eyes and we commonly associate large eyes with the trait of intelligence, hence the attraction.
I’ve come up with my own explanation for the lure of the lens. I like to call it the ‘Clark Kent Effect’. Perhaps we think that once the man removes his glasses, he will stop being a reporter for the Daily Planet and become Superman and save us from the Lex Luthors of the world.

Le Ballon Rouge

Regular readers of this blog, (yes, they do exist) know how much I love balloons. I love them so much that I dedicated an entire post to them, a post dedicated to thin rubber bags inflated with air. You can see it here.

A couple of weeks ago I watched a French film called 'Le Ballon Rouge', it doesn't take a genius to work out what that translates to. The film is about a red balloon that follows a little boy around the streets of Paris. It's an absolutely delightful film, french children are so charming.

I had to complete a portraiture assignment for my Photojournalism class, so I went with the red balloon idea and took photos of my friend holding red balloons at The Rocks. Here's how they turned out:

Absolut Vodka recently launched its biggest advertising campaign to date. Titled ‘In An Absolut World’ the campaign, which includes a dedicated website and a series of cinema advertisements, shows Absolut lovers what life would be like in an alternate reality – an Absolut world. The series of images includes scenes of whales playing in harbours, a Great Barrier Reef growing under Sydney and car parks filled with bicycles. I've posted a couple of my favourites below.

Anyone who has read about this year's Cannes Film Festival will be familiar with the film Up.

If you haven't, I'll enlighten you. Up is a film about a 78-year-old man named Carl Fredricksen who sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream to see the wilds of South America by tying thousands of balloons to his home. Right after lifting off however, he learns he isn't alone on his journey, since Russell, an 8-year-old wilderness explorer, has inadvertently become a stowaway on the trip.

Disney/Pixar's Up is the first animated film to ever open the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.

I can't wait for this to be released in cinemas, it looks and sounds amazing. After seeing these stills, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. They've sent me on a balloon adventure, I've been perusing the internet for balloon images for days now. All the photos are so inspiring and uplifting. They have given me so many ideas for my portraiture assignment.

Une Journee A Paris

Van Cleef & Arpels has giving new meaning to the famous Casablanca line: “We’ll always have Paris.” The French house has revealed a new collection of fine jewellery, aptly named “A Day in Paris,” in which charming little children and young lovers dangle with playful delight. Sculpted in white and rose gold, the figurines hold coral balloons, hide under an umbrella suspended from turquoise raindrops, and dance around the diamond-studded city.

It's magical. I want every single one of these necklaces and I'm devastated that they're not available in Australia. Hopefully, I'll make it to Paris in February and bring one back as a souvenir, if they're still available.

What is your current obsession?

Shari and I have noticed that we are becoming increasingly attracted to men who wear glasses. For me, it has become what some would call an obsession. Look out for a post on spectacled men, coming soon.

What's for dinner?

Pumpkin soup made with an unripe pumpkin. It's so yellow it could pass for a banana smoothie. Needless to say, it remains untouched in the bowl.

Forget saving Anna, Save Gerry! Just a little something I put together, if there's a high enough demand we'll get t-shirts printed and protest in L.A.

Last October, Gerard Butler was leaving the premiere party for RockNRolla (brilliant film) when a paparazzo got in his face. Gerry handled the situation by punching the guy 3 or 4 times in the face. Apparently this is illegal in L.A.

The L.A. City Attorney's office filed a criminal charge against him yesterday. His arraignment is on the 10th of June, I'm booking my flights as I type. If convicted, he could face up to 6 months in prison.

From my research (research = staring at pictures of Gerard Butler shirtless), I’ve found that this is Gerry’s first ever charge in America. Meaning that the whole “oh my Gawd, he could go to jail for six months and he’ll live a jailhouse thug life” worry is probably misplaced. Even if he’s found guilty - which he won’t be - he will probably just get a slap on the wrist.

Here’s another thing - he’s not even an American citizen! If he gets jail time, he could be like, “Whatever, Scotland won’t extradite me, bitches.”

Stop The Press

I went to the World Press Photo Exhibition at the State Library. It was absolutely incredible. I've always loved photography but have never been inspired enough to pick up a camera and shoot for the stars, or shoot the stars for that matter, until today.

The exhibition is running at the State Library in Sydney until the 31st May. I strongly recommend everybody goes and sees it. The images are so much more powerful in person, due in part to the size they are displayed at.

The photos of poverty, war and crime are very confronting, disturbing and slightly depressing. The photos give a great insight into third world and poverty stricken countries, they certainly don't paint a pretty picture. It's hard not to look at those images and not be affected by them. I only gave them a brief look but some of them made me flinch. They're pretty bad, if you're interested you can see them on the website or go out and see them at the SL.

Here are some of my favourites:

I figured I'd start with The World Press Photo Of The Year. When I first saw this photo I was a little surprised that it won. After reading the info on the side and looking at the image with fresh eyes and in context I still wondered why it won haha. It looks like an episode of Law & Order to me, except the dashing Chris Noth has been replaced by a detective from Ohio. I'm kidding, it's a great photo.

He needs to check that the owners have evacated the premises, and that no weapons have been left lying around. Officers go in at gunpoint as a precaution, as many houses have been vandalized or occupied by squatters or drug addicts.

When I look at this photo, I imagine a snake slithering throught the desert. I'd post a photo of a snake to demonstrate what I mean but I'm too scared to google photos of scary animals. Last time I searched 'shark' I didn't sleep well for days. When I was looking at this photo there was an old lady there with her middle aged daughter. She was obviously quite impressed with the photo, saying "That's great, it would have been very difficult to capture". "Not so" I replied "the photographer would have just used a very fast shutter speed." She smiled and as I walked away I heard her whisper to her daughter "these young people today think they know everything."

Apologies old lady, I was just trying to be informative.

You really can't see the detail in this photo very well, which is why you should go and see it in real life. The intensity in the player's eyes as they watch the ball go into the goal is hypnotizing. This is sports photography at it's best.

Dennis Hopper (72), actor, director, painter and photographer, visited Paris in October during a retrospective of his work held at the Cinémathèque Française. The retrospective included not only films he had directed and acted in, but also an exhibition of his paintings and photographs. During the visit Hopper was made a commander in France's National Order of Arts and Letters.

smaller donors via the internet. Obama clinched the Democratic nomination in June, and was elected 44th President of the USA on November 4, the first African American to hold the post.

I think this interior series is superb, I love love love it! Sure, the interiors border on tacky, scrap that, the interiors are tacky but these photos are just so vibrant and luxurious. How many homes have you seen in Australia that look like these? I think we should all be a little more eccentric and extravagant when it comes to decorating our homes. I say yes to an oversized stuffed polar bear decked out in costume jewellery and a crown. Said furnishing does not exist, as far as I know, too scared to google. Be creative!

in communal cauldrons alongside friends and neighbors. Well-to-do Roma parents start to build and decorate homes and apartments for their offspring long in advance of anticipated marriages.

New Tourism Australia Campaign

Speaking of Rosenthal's 'Raising the Flag on Iwa Jima, Tourism Australia has been accused of mocking the iconic image from United States Military History. They have been condemned for their insensitivity in the appropriation of Joe Rosenthal’s famous photograph taken during the bloody World War II Battle of Iwo Jima in which 6,825 American soldiers and 20,000 Japanese soldiers died.

Tourism Australia campaigns have generated a lot of negative publicity and controversy in the last few years. But the question I think they should be asking themselves is 'Why the bloody hell did we hire Lara Bingle?'

Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf

He went and knocked on Grandma's door.

When Grandma opened it, she saw
